Classroom Management Philosophy
My Classroom Management Philosophy, based on Marzano starts with my respect for the students. The first day of class is extremely important for establishing rules and expectations.I will have students come into the gymnasium quietly, they will then read the warm-up on the board and start their activity. Positive reinforcement is extremely important, I will acknowledge students' positive behavior. Likewise, if a student is off-task I will remind them and ask them what they should be doing, while staying in the upstairs brain.
Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy is based on respect for students and getting the most out of every individual student in the classroom. I know physical education may not be everyone's favorite subject, but it is my job as an educator to inspire each and every student to find their own way of making physical education fun. I view physical education as an opportunity for students to get out of their desks for a class period and get moving and active. Physical Education is a fantastic brain escape and being active only increases the blood flow to the brain and to go along with better focus in class.
